Washington, D.C. – The Senate Finance Committee today voted to approve the nominations of Dr. Melanie Egorin to be the Assistant Secretary for Legislation at Health and Human Services (HHS) and Sarah Bianchi and Jayme White to be Deputy U.S. Trade Representatives. The nominations will head to the Senate floor for final confirmation.

Chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., celebrated the passage of all three nominations and issued the following statement:

“The Finance Committee just forwarded three nominations of extremely qualified individuals to serve in critical health and trade related positions in the Biden administration. The Senate should swiftly vote to confirm Melanie Egorin to HHS and Sarah Bianchi and Jayme White to USTR so that they can get to work for the American people, especially as our nation continues to recover from an unprecedented health and economic crisis.

Melanie Egorin passed through committee on a 28-0 vote, Sarah Bianchi on a 27-1 vote and Jayme White on a 25-3 vote.
