Wyden Statement on Clean Energy Provisions in End-of-Year Tax Package

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today released the following statement on the clean energy provisions in the end-of-year tax package:

“I am glad to report that the end-of-year spending package includes an agreement I reached with Chairman Neal, Chairman Grassley and Ranking Member Brady to extend and expand tax incentives for clean energy that have been critical in moving us toward a low-carbon economy, and essential to the climate fight. Importantly, the phase downs for wind and solar credits have been delayed. We also successfully secured the permanent extension of a key energy efficiency incentive and expanded credits for offshore wind and waste heat to power technology.

“I hope these extensions serve as a bridge to the comprehensive reform desperately needed to end our dependence on Big Oil and ensure that green jobs are good jobs. I plan to keep at it until America kicks its carbon habit once and for all.”
