Re: President’s proposal on health care reform
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) made the following statement today after the release of the President’s proposal on health care reform. From Chairman Baucus:
“The recession that rocked our economy has shown millions of American families and business
owners how hard it can be to find and keep affordable health insurance. This recession has truly
demonstrated the importance of passing health care reform now more than ever, and last week when I was home, I heard from people across Montana about the importance of getting this done. Today’s announcement indicates progress toward that goal. I look forward to discussing the ideas that president Obama released today with him and members of both parties at the health care summit this week. We’ve come a long way, and today, I remain confident we will succeed in ensuring this country has the affordable health care system we need to be competitive in the 21st century global economy.”
