Baucus Schedules Markup on Trade Promotion Authority
Hearing: To Markup The Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority and Pending Nominations

Chairman Baucus announced that the Finance Committee would meet on December 12 to
The Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority Act of 2001, which the Chairman will propose as a substitute for H.R. 3005;
In addition, Chairman Baucus announced that the Committee would consider favorably reporting the following seven nominations:
Richard Clarida, to be Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Economic Policy;
Kenneth Lawson, to be Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Enforcement;
B. John Williams, to be Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service and Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Treasury;
Janet Hale, to be Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services for Budget Technology and Finance;
Joan Ohl, to be Commissioner of Children, Youth and Family Administration for the
Department of Health and Human Services;
James Lockhart, III, to be Deputy Commissioner of the Social Security Administration;
Harold Daub, to be a member of the Social Security Advisory Board.
Written Statements: Any individuals or organizations wanting to present their views on this markup to the Committee are urged to submit a typewritten, single-spaced, single-sided statement, not exceeding 10 pages in length, for inclusion in the hearing record. The date and subject of the markup must appear on the first page of the statement.
