From the Atlantic to the Pacific, U.S. Senators Laud Comprehensive Tax Reform

Senators Praise Historic, Pro-Growth Tax Reform

Earlier this week, Republican U.S. Senators from across the country voted to provide middle-class tax relief and modernize America’s broken tax code, bringing it into the 21st century. From making the tax code more family friendly and repealing Obamacare’s individual mandate tax, to making America more competitive and developing more natural resources, there is so much in this bill that helps hardworking Americans. Here are some of the highlights from Senate Republicans:

SHELBY: “Across the nation, this legislation will help create jobs, increase paychecks, and make the tax code simpler and fairer.”

STRANGE: “Getting tax relief accomplished is the reason I came to Washington, and on behalf of Alabama, I am proud to cast my vote...”

ISAKSON: “Now that we have a territorial system, there’s an incentive to stay in the country if you’re located here and come to America if you’re not. We are open for business!”

PERDUE: “This tax plan makes America competitive with the rest of the world again”

CRAPO: “The tax reform legislation passed by Congress will produce growth not seen in generations, giving Americans access to higher wages, greater job opportunities and a more vibrant economy,”

RISCH: “I was proud to support this once-in-a-generation reform that will benefit all Idahoans.”

GRASSLEY: “This historic legislation makes good on a promise to deliver tax relief to Americans from every walk of life and income level.”

MORAN: “By lowering the corporate tax rate, businesses will be encouraged to stay and grow in America, fostering an environment for businesses to create more jobs, better jobs and higher-paying jobs.”

ROBERTS: “This bill will give our economy the boost it needs to create more jobs at higher wages, make American companies more competitive, and keep jobs here at home.”

MCCONNELL: “After years of work, dozens of hearings, and an open process, we passed an historic overhaul of our nation’s tax code. It will deliver tax reform to families and small businesses across the nation.”

PAUL: “[T]he Senate delivered on its promise of allowing Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money, a commitment I worked to hold it to by fighting to make sure the bill became a bigger and better tax cut and included repeal of the Obamacare individual mandate.”

CASSIDY: “The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will cut taxes for working families, bring relief for flood victims, increase investment in Louisiana’s communities and coastline.”
