Hatch Announces Departure of Tax Reform Advisor

WASHINGTON – Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) today announced that Senior Policy Advisor for Tax Reform Christopher Hanna will be departing the committee at the end of the year.

 “Christopher has been a wonderful asset to the committee. His dedication to the success of tax reform was invaluable; he worked for 6 years to make this historic legislation happen. Because of his help, tax reform has created hundreds of thousands of new jobs and spurred strong economic growth.”

 Hanna has served as the committee’s senior policy advisor since February 2011. Before joining the committee, Hanna served as the Altshuler Distinguished Teaching Professor and Professor of Law at SMU, where he has received the Dr. Don M. Smart Teaching Award for excellence in teaching at SMU Law School on eight separate occasions. Prior to SMU, Hanna was a tax attorney with the Washington, D.C. law firm of Steptoe & Johnson.
