Obamacare Taxes Trampling the American People

Higher costs and fewer choices have plagued many Americans struggling under a law that has proven to be unaffordable and unworkable.

At the heart of this misguided law are burdensome taxes and cumbersome mandates, making it all but impossible for small businesses and middle-class families to find affordable coverage under Obamacare.

In fact, taxes under Obamacare have only gone up. The law’s nearly $1 trillion tax hike on the American people has been a stark contrast to what patients and taxpayers were promised.

As Obamacare continues to unravel, the difference between the fictional promises of Obamacare and the factual realities of a disastrous health law cannot be ignored.

Let’s take a look:

Promise: Obamacare taxes will not result in significant job loss.

FACT:  According to data from the Commerce Department, nearly 29,000 jobs have been lost in the medical technology industry since the medical device tax took effect.

Promise: The Affordable Care Act will not raise taxes on middle-class families.

FACT:  Obamacare has been anything but affordable for the middle-class. In fact, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) the law put forth significant tax increases on middle-class taxpayers earning less than $200,000 per year.

Promise: Obamacare will lower costs and increase coverage.

FACT: Data suggests, the Health Insurance Tax (HIT) alone has the potential to increase premiums up to 3.7% in coming years.

The facts are there. Obamacare clearly isn’t working for the American people.  Its taxes are unaffordable, the law is unworkable and the status quo is unacceptable.
