Hatch Announces Markup of Bipartisan Miscellaneous Healthcare Bills

WASHINGTON – Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) today announced a committee markup of bipartisan miscellaneous healthcare bills.  Hatch worked along with Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and members of the committee to develop the list of legislation that will be marked up by the committee on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at 10 a.m. ET in Dirksen 215.

“The Finance Committee is dedicated to advancing bipartisan bills that benefit American families and their health, and this markup will give members the opportunity to act on common sense legislation that will improve the healthcare system for patients and taxpayers alike,” Hatch said.

The following bills will be considered at the markup:

  1. S. 607 – The Rural Community Hospital Demonstration Extension Act of 2015 (Grassley, Bennet, Roberts, Thune)
  2. S. 1349 – The Notice of Observation, Treatment and Implication for Care Eligibility (NOTICE) Act of 2015 (Cardin, Enzi, Stabenow) 
  3. S. 1461 – A One Year Extension of the Enforcement Instructions on Supervision Requirements of Outpatient Therapeutic Services in Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) and Small Rural Hospitals (Thune, Cantwell, Stabenow)
  4. S. 313 – Prevent Interruptions in Physical Therapy Act of 2015 (Grassley, Casey, Brown, Thune, Stabenow, Burr, Cardin, Bennet, Portman)
  5. S. 1253 – Patient Access to Disposable Medical Technology Act of 2015 (Burr, Bennet)
  6. S. 1347 – Electronic Health Fairness Act of 2015 (Isakson, Bennet, Stabenow)
  7. S. 704 – The Community Based Independence for Seniors Act (Grassley, Cardin, Schumer)
  8. S. 1362 – The PACE Innovation Act of 2015 (Carper, Toomey, Warner, Stabenow, Casey)
  9. S. 861 – Preventing and Reducing Improper Medicare and Medicaid Expenditures Act of 2015 (Carper, Enzi, Portman, Thune, Warner)
  10. S. 349 – Special Needs Trust Fairness Act of 2015 (Grassley, Nelson, Stabenow)
  11. S. 466 – Quality Care for Moms and Babies Act (Stabenow, Grassley, Brown, Casey, Mendendez, Schumer)
  12. S. 599 – Improving Access to Emergency Psychiatric Care Act of 2015 (Cardin, Toomey, Stabenow, Brown)
