Wyden Statement on Partisan Government Funding Bill

Washington, D.C. — Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued the following statement after Republicans in the House of Representatives released a short-term government funding bill on a partisan basis.

“Republicans are choosing to drive American families headlong into a health care crisis: disastrous premium increases and devastating cuts to Medicaid that will tear communities apart,” Wyden said. “Instead of engaging in good faith bipartisan negotiations on funding the government and lowering health care costs, Republicans have once again chosen a go-it-alone approach that doesn’t stop Trump’s illegal theft of taxpayer dollars and leaves everyday Americans worse off.”
