Re: Baucus comment on publication of Treasury’s semiannual currency report
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) issued the following comment today on the Department of Treasury’s publication of its statutorily required Semiannual Report on International Economic and Exchange Rate Policies.
“China’s currency practices harm ranchers, farmers, and exporters across America and around the world,” Baucus said. “I have long said that China must take meaningful action to address its currency practices. A few weeks ago, China took a small step in this direction, but small steps are not enough. China must take significant steps to appreciate its currency and I expect those steps to happen soon. I urge the Administration to be vigilant in pushing China on this issue.”
