Baucus Re-Schedules Continuation of Markup on Trade Promotion Authority

Hearing: To Markup The Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority and Pending Nominations

Chairman Baucus announced that the Finance Committee would meet on December 13 to markup:

The Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority Act of 2001, which the Chairman will propose as a substitute for H.R. 3005;

In addition, Chairman Baucus announced that the Committee would consider favorably reporting the following seven nominations:

Richard Clarida, to be Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Economic Policy;
Kenneth Lawson, to be Assistant Secretary of Treasury for Enforcement;
B. John Williams, to be Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service and Assistant General Counsel for the Department of Treasury;
Janet Hale, to be Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services for Budget Technology and Finance;
Joan Ohl, to be Commissioner of Children, Youth and Family Administration for the Department of Health and Human Services;
James Lockhart, III, to be Deputy Commissioner of the Social Security Administration;
Harold Daub, to be a member of the Social Security Advisory Board.
