Hatch Announces Finance Hearing on Administration’s Treasury Budget Request & Tax Reform Policy Options

WASHINGTON – Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) will convene a hearing on Thursday, May 25, 2017, to examine the Administration’s budget request for the Treasury Department and current policies to overhaul the nation’s tax code.  The hearing, titled “Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Proposals for the Department of Treasury and Tax Reform,” will take place at 10:00 a.m. in Room 215 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.

“As Congress and the Administration continue to work to unite behind policies that will remake the tax code to better meet the challenges of today’s economy and get our nation on a better growth path, it’s imperative we have a clear understanding of how Washington intends to achieve this goal,” said Hatch.   “Secretary Mnuchin will come before the Committee to discuss the President’s FY2018 budget, which we expect to be released next week, and further examine tax reform policy options that aim to further boost job creation, increase wages, and promote more opportunities for all Americans.”
