Wyden Statement on Trump Decision to End Cost-Sharing Reduction Payments

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued a statement following an announcement by the president and his administration ending cost-sharing reduction (CSR) payments that reduce out-of-pocket spending for lower-income Americans:

“Trump promised to lower Americans’ health care costs, but today he has chosen to make them more expensive purely out of spite,” Wyden said. “After making payments for the past nine months, the president has decided to pull out the rug from under families who simply want affordable health care.”
